I’m formerly a lifestyle and celebrity news producer at Popsugar and Black Entertainment Television (BET Networks). My non-fiction writing has been published by Refinery29, Nylon, and internationally with Nine Network Australia. I’m also an alum of Yale University’s Writers’ Workshop and a former finalist of Disney Entertainment Television’s Writing Program (Comedy). I’m pursuing an MFA in Fiction at Columbia University, but probably spend more time talking about my two cats, Coconut and Wakanda, or baking sourdough. Certified Swiftie and Beyhive.

I’m a goner for laugh-out-loud rom-coms and contemporary romances with swoony-heat, shimmering prose, and thoughtful themes exploring race, sexuality, chronic illness, and personal growth. I’m also hungry for stories centering women, BIPOC characters, and queer and/or non-binary characters. I’d love to find the next Get a Life, Chloe Brown (Talia Hibbert), Honey and Spice (Bolu Babalola), or Can’t Get Enough (Kennedy Ryan). On the upmarket/women’s fiction front, give me a compelling music drama like Daisy Jones & The Six (Taylor Jenkins Reid) or Deep Cuts (Holly Brickley), or a blissfully chaotic character study à la Luster (Raven Leilani) or Such a Fun Age (Kiley Reid). And huge bonus points if your story features delectable foods and quirky side characters that help carry the protagonist across the finish line. No matter the genre, I’ll always rally for underdogs overcoming all odds to become the people they dream to be.

I am supportive first and foremost; I want you to feel empowered to tell the stories that make your heart sing, and, I believe, will change the world for the better. I love asking you questions rather than offering perscriptives regarding craft and voice––but I will always give my honest opinion if that’s what you need in the moment. Ultimately, I want to give the feedback that feels most valuable to you and your writing journey.
