Bio

I'm Grace, and I write books that are actually five genres in a trench coat. My debut, (MOSTLY) HUMAN RESOURCES is a blend of romance, fantasy, folklore, and horror.

I'm a bookkeeper sometimes and an author when not distracted by my two dogs and endless TBR. I live in Maryland for the moment with my husband and can usually be found wandering the woods or watching Supernatural/The Mummy reruns. I love to read widely, but I've really been on a gothic, folkloric, and spooky trend lately. It's my thirst for fall showing.

I was a 2023 Smoochpit mentee, so I'm very excited to join the mentor side of things. I am represented by Hannah Todd with Janklow & Nesbit UK.

For SmoochPit, I'd love to read stories that combine genre elements in interesting ways. The niche stories that sit on the fence between romance and horror, fantasy, or other spaces are some of my favorites to read, especially if they combine tropes in interesting and fresh ways. That being said, I'm still a sucker for the classics. I imagine I'd be a good fit if your story has:

- banter, humor, pining, and shameless flirting
- a slowburn or even a medium burn (let the romance take it's time!)
- a romance that isn't quite the A plot but still there
- cross-genre elements (a mystery, a murder, a monster, some magic, some mayhem, I love it all)
- single or dual POV

I'm comfortable with stories of any spice level, but I might not be as equipped to give feedback on open door since I have less experience writing it. I'm also not a good fit for miscommunication tropes, pregnancy tropes, or historical romance.

Mentoring Style

My favorite part of the writing process is editing, so I'm all about brainstorming chats and constructive feedback on everything from plot to character arcs to worldbuilding. I'm flexible with my feedback and am happy to adapt to my mentee whether they work best with edit letters, in-line comments, or a mix of the two.

I'm in the middle of preparing for my debut year, but I'll aim to be available as much as I can be via email, discord, or socials.
